South Walton Montessori Academy offers the following program
* Toddler - ages 14 months – 3, Ms Jessica
* Early Childhood - ages 3-6, Ms Tricia
* Lower Elementary - ages 6-9, Ms Catherine
* Upper Elementary - ages 9-12, Mr David
Four classrooms and an administrative office are housed within a temporary learning facility on the north side of Rosemary Beach. Plans for building the new learning facility are taking shape. Our campus includes three large buildings with large outdoor decking, two playgrounds and gardens.
SWMA classrooms consist of children mixed in ages within a 3-year development span. Mixing ages enables the older, more socially advanced and capable children to become role models for the younger ones. A feeling of community develops as younger children are aided by older ones and as older children learn nurturance and leadership through their experiences with younger children. In a mixed-age classroom, children can choose friendships based on common interest, not just age.
